About.Hello and welcome to Sweating the Details. Were the model is, "If I can dream it, I can build it". A mixture of fabrication, engineering and physics is used in my designs. Trade skill sets are in welding, blacksmith, glass blowing/lamp working, automotive and fabrication. Experience with fiberglass, casting, and journeyman manual Mill & lathe, limited CNC G-code machining. Drafting programs used; Autodesk inventor, solid works, CAD. This wide arrangement of skills and backgrounds, welcomes unique problem solving and also grants the ability to approach projects from different angles and perspectives.
I strive for low waste [were possible] using metal cutoff's, up-cycled, repurposed when commissioned for a artistic piece. Which is rooted in “making something out of nothing”. A preference to use reusable material for art centric based projects whenever possible; gives "life" and purpose to forgotten material, that would otherwise end up in our landfills. Experimenting with mixing different medians that traditionally would not be used together, incorporation glass, metalworking, and (casting, plaster) sculpture into a art piece. This encourages new techniques, more efficient processes, idea's and or new perspectives. ~What is now proved, ~was once only imagined, -William Blake |
